Dry season (May–October) gives the best wildlife viewing — animals concentrate at waterholes and roads are at their driest. September–October is peak season, also the hottest and busiest. Our published packages range from $890 per person for a 3-day Etosha safari to $6,450 for a 22-day full circuit; most 5–7 day guided trips run $1,380–$2,050 per person, all-in. That covers accommodation, a Namibia-based guide, park fees and ground transport. Flights, travel insurance, drinks and visas aren't included and are noted separately on every package. For well-traveled routes like Windhoek to Etosha or Sesriem, a standard 2WD self-drive works fine. Remote regions — Kaokoland, the Skeleton Coast beyond Ugab, parts of Damaraland — need a 4x4 and local knowledge, which is exactly where a guided trip earns its cost. Malaria risk in Namibia is regional and seasonal — generally higher in the north and northeast, including parts of Etosha and the Zambezi region, and during the wetter months. Speak to a travel health professional before you go for advice specific to your route, dates and medical history — we're happy to share your exact itinerary with them if that helps.
